1952 Armi Kuusela (Finland)
Armi Helena Kuusela (born August 20, 1934 in Muhos) is a Finnish beauty queen. In 1952 she won the national beauty contest Suomen Neito and was presented with a trip to the United States to participate in the first-ever Miss Universe pageant, becoming its first titleholder in history.
1953 Christiane Martel (France) Christiane Martel, born Christiane Magnani, won the 1953 Miss Universe pageant representing France. However, she was not a titleholder from the "official" Miss France pageant. Martel's runners-up in the 1953 pageant was Myrna Hansen of the U.S., followed by delegates of Japan, Mexico, and Australia. She presently resides in Mexico in the state of Veracruz. They have three daughters and one son. Their son, Miguel Alemán Magnani is a stakeholder of Televisa and the owner of low-cost airline, Interjet. She made her last television appearance at the Miss Universe pageants in 1993 and 2007 that were held in Mexico.
1954 Miriam Stevenson (USA)
Miriam Jacqueline Stevenson born 4 July 1933, of Winnsboro, South Carolina, won the Miss USA pageant as Miss South Carolina USA in 1954. She was the first Miss USA to hold the Miss Universe beauty crown. Her win over Brazil's Martha Rocha was memorable for there was a tie between the two women for the crown. As Catalina was the major sponsor of the pageant in its early years, the tie-breaking judgment finally came down to who had the better physical figure, which went to Miriam's favor, for she had the "fitter" hips over Martha Rocha. Stevenson gave the car she won in her Miss Universe Prize package to Martha Rocha as a consolatory prize.
Hillevi Schine, (née Rombin) (September 14, 1933 – June 19, 1996), crowned as Miss Sweden and is the fourth winner of Miss Universe in 1955. She was the first deceased Miss Universe title holder since the pageant's inception.
1956 Carol Morris (USA)
Carol Ann Laverne Morris (born 1936), Miss Iowa USA, was the second Miss USA to win the Miss Universe title in the pageant's fifth edition in 1956.Morris was born in Omaha, Nebraska the only child of a minister. Morris developed into a 5-foot 7-inch young lady, with blue eyes and dark brown almost black hair, 131 pounds and 36-25-36-inch figure. The first beauty pageant she entered and won was the Miss Ottumwa contest. Morris was in high school and was sponsored by the South Ottumwa Boosters club. While attending Drake University she entered and won the Miss Iowa beauty contest. Morris then represented Iowa in the Miss America contest in 1954.. She is still active in the Miss Iowa USA pageant.
1957 Gladys Zender (Peru)
Gladys Zender Meier (born Gladys Rosa Zender Urbina on October 19, 1939), is a Peruvian who made history in 1957, by becoming the first Latin American to win the Miss Universe title. After she was crowned, it was revealed that she was 17 years old; a few months under the minimum age requirement of the pageant. Pageant officials decided that she would keep the crown because in Peru, a person is considered one year older if they are more than six months of their current age.

1960 Linda Bement (USA)
Linda Jeanne Bement (born c. 1942), is a beauty pageant titleholder from the United States who became the third Miss USA to be crowned Miss Universe. She represented the United States in the 1960 Miss Universe pageant, broadcast from Long Beach, California, where she was crowned the winner of the title. The 1960 pageant was the first Miss Universe pageant to be televised nationwide.
She was raised in East Germany, the state also known in those days as German Democratic Republic. There she gained a masters degree in engineering. In 1960 she and her family moved to West Germany and lived in Stuttgart.
1961 Marlene Schmidt (Germany)
Marlene Schmidt (born 1937), a professional Engineer, came to fame as winner of the 1961 Miss Universe pageant. Later she had a career in the movie industry. She was raised in East Germany, the state also known in those days as German Democratic Republic. There she gained a masters degree in engineering. In 1960 she and her family moved to West Germany and lived in Stuttgart. In 1961, keen on winning the car that was offered as prize, she entered the state pageant of Baden-Württemberg. From there the 173 cm (5'8") tall blonde with black eyebrows went on to represent her state in the national pageant in the glamorous spa town of Baden-Baden, where she was crowned Miss Germany.
1962 Norma Nolan (Argentina)
Norma Nolan (born Norma Beatriz Nolan, approx. 1938 [1] ), is an Argentine who became, in 1962, the first woman from that country to obtain the Miss Universe title. She won the title in Miami Beach, Florida. Nolan is of Irish and Italian descent. She was born in Argentina. Not much is known about her after winning the Miss Universe title; Nolan kept a largely private life after her victory. According to some websites written by Argentines who lived during the 1960s, however, she became a symbol to the Argentine youth, as Argentina was going through a difficult period, having cut ties with Chile recently, among other things.
1963 Ieda Maria Vargas (Brazil)
Iêda Maria Vargas (born Iêda Maria Britto Vargas, c. 1943), is a Brazilian who was crowned Miss Universe in Miami Beach, Florida in 1963. She was the first person from her country to win a major international beauty pageant. Vargas is a native of Rio Grande do Sul. During her term she opened the Capital Plaza Mall in Landover Hills, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C. In 1968, Martha Vasconcellos of Bahia became the second Brazilian to win the Miss Universe contest. As of 2009, Vargas and Vasconcellos are the only Brazilians to win the Miss Universe crown.
1964 Corinna Tsopei (Greece)
Kiriaki "Corinna" Tsopei (Greek: Κυριακή Κορίνα Τσοπέη; born June 21, 1944) is a beauty pageant winner and actress. In 1964, Tsopei became the first Greek winner of the Miss Universe pageant.On June 20, 1964, Corinna was crowned Miss Star Hellas, (Greek: Μις Σταρ Ελλάς), and moved on to represent Greece at the 1964 Miss Universe pageant in Miami, Florida. She beat out Miss Israel, Miss Great Britain and Miss Sweden to be crowned Miss Universe,[1] bringing the title to Greece for the first time. She has since returned several times to judge the pageant. After the event she went on to pursue a movie career, appearing in a few Hollywood movies and television series such as A Man Called Horse, Daniel Boone, Lost in Space, Valley of the Dolls and A Guide for the Married Man. Apart from her beauty pageant work and acting career, Corinna also is a chairman for an organisation for children with leukemia. Tsopei was married to Hollywood Super Agent Freddie Fields, brother of band leader Shep Fields.

Apasra Hongsakula (born in 1947 in Bangkok, Thailand; Thai: อาภัสรา หงสกุล, pronounced [āːpʰátrāː hǒŋsàkūn]) is a Thai beauty queen who has held the title Miss Universe 1965. She is the daughter of Group Captain "Perm" and Kayoon Hongsakula. She was the first woman from Thailand to win the Miss Universe crown. In the 1964 Miss Thailand pageant held in Bangkok, Apasra Hongsakula, a high school student from Penang won the crown. She then went on to compete in the 1965 Miss Universe pageant held in Miami Beach, Florida, USA where she was crowned 14th Miss Universe winner on July 28, 1965. 1966 Margareta Arvidsson (Sweden)
Margareta Arvidsson, born in Gothenburg, Sweden, on August 12, 1947, was 18 years old when she was crowned as the 1966 Miss Universe (not 21 years old, as erroneously reported by bad sources). She represented Vänersborg in the 1966 Miss Sweden Pageant. [2]She was the second Swedish beauty to win the crown, 11 years after Hillevi Rombin. Margareta also won the Miss Photogenic title at the 15th Annual Miss Universe Pageant which was held in Miami Beach, Florida, culminating with her crowing on July 16, 1966. After her reign as Miss Universe, Margareta became a fashion model for the Ford Modeling Agency and had great success as an international model. Margareta also appeared on stage and in films. She was married for 9 years to the late Brazilian photographer, Otto Stupakoff, with whom she had two children.
1967 Sylvia Hitchcock (USA)
Sylvia Louise Hitchcock-Carson (born January 31, 1946) is a pageant titleholder who held the Miss USA 1967 and Miss Universe 1967 titles. Hitchcock, who had previously competed in local pageants in Florida, represented Alabama at the Miss USA 1967 pageant. She was chosen as one of the fifteen best in swimsuit and won the Miss USA title on May 22. In July she became the first Miss USA to win the Miss Universe title since Linda Bement in 1960. After passing on her title she tried modelling in New York but became disillusioned with the city and returned to Miami where she worked for a television station. Gloria Maria Aspillera Diaz (born March 10, 1951) is an award-winning actress in the Philippines, and the first Filipino to bring home the Miss Universe crown.Gloria Maria Aspillera Diaz was born in Aringay, La Union Philippines. Often referred to as one of the Diaz clan in newspapers, Diaz was one of 12 children. One of her sisters, Rio Diaz-Cojuangco, was also a Filipino actress and beauty titlist, who died after a six year battle with colon cancer.She was approached by an individual who believed she would do well in the Miss Universe competition and groomed the young woman. Díaz was only 18 when she became Miss Universe in 1969 after outsmarting other candidates on the final question. It was about how to welcome the first men that had just landed on the moon -- Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin and Michael Collins -- as soon as they were back on the planet. She was crowned in the international American-owned pageant in 1969 in Florida, U.S. after their footage was set on the Statue of Liberty in New York.
1970 Marisol Malaret (Puerto Rico)
Marisol Malaret Contreras (born on October 13, 1949 in Santurce, Puerto Rico) was the very first Puerto Rican woman to be crowned Miss Universe.The auburn-haired, blue-green eyed Malaret won the title in the international competition held in Miami on July 11, 1970. Due to her win in the Miss Universe pageant, she was honored with what was considered until then one of the biggest welcomings ever at San Juan's Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, then known as Isla Verde International Airport. Malaret's face has graced the covers of countless international and Puerto Rican entertainment and gossip magazines, such as Vea, Teve Guía, Artistas, Estrellas and its smaller version Estrellitas. She has participated in many advertising campaigns, and performs occasionally as a motivational speaker to young women and aspiring business leaders.
1971 Georgia Risk (Lebanon)
Georgina Rizk (Arabic: جورجينا رزق, born July 23, 1953) was Lebanon's first and so far only Miss Universe.Rizk was born in Beirut to a Christian household. She was crowned in the Miss Universe pageant in 1971 in Miami Beach, Florida, USA. She was the first woman from the Middle East and the fourth woman from Asia to win the title. The 1972 Miss Universe pageant was held in Cerromar Beach Hotel in Dorado, Puerto Rico. On May 30, 1972, a month before the pageant telecast, 16 Christian pilgrims from Puerto Rico along with other victims, were killed during a terrorist massacre at the Lod Airport in Tel Aviv in Israel(now Ben Gurion International Airport). Rizk had competed in the 1970 Miss World competition, but did not place.
1972 Kerry Anne Wells (Australia)
Kerry Anne Wells of Australia was the 1972 winner of the Miss Universe contest. She is from East Victoria Park, Western Australia.The 1972 pageant was the first to take place place outside the continental United States. That year, it was held in Dorado, Puerto Rico. Wells was not crowned by her predecessor Georgina Rizk, but Marisol Malaret, Miss Universe 1970 who is from Puerto Rico.Her crowning moment was not shown on television because of a strike threat among pageant electricians. The screen blacked out as her name was announced as the new Miss Universe.After her reign, she pursued working as a news anchor. Prior to entering the pageants, she worked as a weathergirl. Wells's Miss Universe victory came in a year that Australian women also won the Miss World crown, the Miss Asia Pacific title, and placed second in Miss International.
1973 Margarita Moran (Philippines)
Maria Margarita Morán Róxas-Floirendo won the Miss Philippines and Miss Universe crowns in 1973. A granddaughter of former Philippine President Manuel Roxas, she has also been known as Margie Morán Róxas and Margie Moran Róxas De Floirendo. She is so far the last Philippine representative to the Miss Universe Pageant to bring home the crown.
The full-time college student at Maryknoll College (now Miriam College) and part-time Auggie Cordero model won the right to represent the country in the Miss Universe pageant after winning the Miss Philippines competition. Moran said that she entered the contest because of the incessant urgings of friends and family. The 19-year-old, 5 ft 6 in beauty was one of the favorites during that edition, also garnering the Miss Photogenic title
1974 Amparo Munoz (Spain)
Amparo Muñoz Quesada (June 21, 1954 – February 27, 2011) was a Spanish actress who, in 1974, became the first, and so far, only Spaniard to win the Miss Universe pageant.Amparo Muñoz came from the town of Vélez-Málaga, Andalusia, where she had won the city title, to compete at the Miss Spain contest held in Lanzarote. After winning, she went on to Miss Universe 1974 Pageant in Manila, Philippines, where she won, only to give up her crown later that year.
1975 Anne Marie Puhtamo (Finland)
Anne Marie Puhtamo (born 15 August 1955, Helsinki, Finland) was the second woman from Finland to capture the Miss Universe crown. She claimed the Miss Universe crown in 1975 at the pageant held in El Salvador. Puhtamo was crowned by Miss Universe 1972 Kerry Anne Wells, not by her predecessor Amparo Muñoz, as Muñoz was dethroned shortly before her reign ended.[why?] She became the second Finn to claim the title of Miss Universe, 23 years after Armi Kuusela. Puhtamo later pursued a modeling and movie career, being credited either as Anne Puhtamo or as Anne Puhtamo-Hietanen. She married Arto Hietanen in 1980, and is a mother of four.
1976 Rina Messinger (Israel)
Rina Mor (Hebrew: רינה מור; surname originally Messinger, now Mor-Goder; born February 16, 1956) is the first Israeli Miss Universe winner, having been crowned on July 11, 1976, after having been Miss Israel.Upon her proclamation as the winner, she remarked, "I'm no politician. I think my being Miss Universe will show people that Israel has another side, not only war." Extensive security precautions were taken as she began her world tour with a stop in Bangkok. 1977 Janelle Commissiong (Trinidad/Tobago)
Janelle Commissiong (born 1953) was born in Trinidad and Tobago. Commissiong migrated to the United States at the age of 13, and returned to Trinidad and Tobago ten years later. After winning the Miss Trinidad and Tobago title, she went on to be crowned Miss Universe 1977 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. In New York City, she studied fashion at the Fashion Institute of Technology, but returned to Port of Spain in 1976. The following year, Commissiong had been selected to represent the Island at the 1977 Miss Universe competition in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She was elected Miss Photogenic four days before the final, becoming the second black woman to win the award in Miss Universe history. On July 16, in the National Theater of Santo Domingo, Commissiong was crowned Miss Universe, attracting international attention as the first black winner in the chronology of Miss Universe..
1978 Margaret Gardiner (South Africa)
Margaret Gardiner, from Woodstock, South Africa is the winner of the Miss Universe pageant in 1978. She was 18 years old when she won the pageant. After the 3 semi-final competitions, she entered the 5 finalists in 4th place, but ended up winning the pageant after answering the final question. During the event held in Acapulco, she received her crown from Janelle Commissiong, the first black titleholder of the pageant.

Maritza Sayalero (born February 16, 1961 in Caracas) is a former beauty queen who was crowned Miss Venezuela in 1979 and became her country's first Miss Universe titleholder. 1980 Shawn Weatherly (USA)
Shawn Nichols Weatherly (born July 24, 1959) is a beauty queen and actress from South Carolina who won the titles of Miss USA and Miss Universe in 1980.The Miss USA 1980 pageant was televised live from Biloxi, Mississippi. Weatherly won the preliminary competition by a clear margin, and went on to win all three rounds of the final competition (interview, evening gown, and swimsuit). She was the only woman to score above 9.0 in the preliminary rounds as well as in the swimsuit and evening gown competitions. She was the second woman from South Carolina to win the title. In July 1980, Weatherly competed in the Miss Universe pageant held in Seoul, South Korea, where again she won all rounds of competition. Her closest rival was Denyse Nottle of New Zealand, who placed second in the interview and swimsuit competitions, and would eventually be Weatherly's second runner-up. Attending the pageant was Dwight Clark, her boyfriend from Clemson at the time. He went on to be the receiver of "The Catch."

Irene Lailin Sáez Conde (born 13 December 1961 in Caracas, Venezuela) is a Venezuelan politician and a former Miss Universe. She has been a model, was the mayor of Chacao (a municipality of Caracas), Governor of the state of Nueva Esparta and a former presidential candidate.Sáez was crowned Miss Venezuela 1981 and later, crowned Miss Universe 1981 at the 30th annual pageant in New York City at the age of 19.[1] She was also Queen of Club Campestre Los Cortijos for three years in a row. In 1997, she was awarded the Distinguished Achievement Award at the Miss Universe Pageant, a recently created prize of the Miss Universe Organization. She made her acceptance speech in both English and Spanish. Sáez was received in the International Airport Simón Bolívar by former president of Venezuela, Luis Herrera Campins and he gave her a chain of gold for her victory in Miss Universe 1981.

Karen Dianne Baldwin, (born September 6, 1963[citation needed] in London, Ontario, Canada) is the first Canadian winner of Miss Universe.Before becoming Miss Universe, she attended London Central Secondary School in London, Ontario.Baldwin was the winner of the 1982 Miss Canada pageant and was crowned Miss Universe in Lima, Peru. She then relinquished her crown to Lorraine Downes the following year in the United States. She hosted The New You, a Canadian fashion and lifestyle television program and was one of the co-hosts for the 1989 Miss Universe pageant, held in Cancun, Mexico.
1983 Lorraine Downes (New Zealand)
Lorraine Elizabeth Downes (born 12 June 1964) is a New Zealand former beauty queen who held the Miss Universe title in 1983 and won the New Zealand version of the reality TV show Dancing with the Stars in 2006.Downes won the Miss New Zealand title and went on to represent her country at the 1983 Miss Universe pageant broadcast live from St. Louis, Missouri in July 1983. After the preliminary competition, Downes made the top twelve cut in sixth place, but placed second in the final evening gown competition, third in the interview competition, and fourth in swimsuit. She made the final five in third place behind Julie Hayek of the USA and Lolita Morena of Switzerland, and was eventually crowned Miss Universe. She wore a midnight blue gown and long gloves during the competition. Downes' win was New Zealand's first in the pageant's history, although Diana Delyse Nottle had placed second runner-up to Shawn Weatherly in 1980 and Donella Thomsen was a semi-finalist in 1981. No other delegate from New Zealand would make the cut until 1992.
1984 Yvonne Ryding (Sweden)
Yvonne Agneta Ryding (born 14 December 1962, in Eskilstuna, Södermanland) is a beauty queen from Sweden who was crowned Miss Universe 1984 on July 9, 1984. She is the third Swede in history to win the title.Prior to competing in the Miss Universe pageant, Miss Ryding was a Swedish National Lucia Bride, formerly midfield soccer player and nurse.Following the year as Miss Universe, Ryding worked within the fashion industry and also did some commission work. In 1988 her homesickness got the upper hand and she moved back to Sweden. In 1989 she presented the Swedish competition Melodifestivalen. Ryding was a guest of honor of the Miss Universe 2006 competition, held in Los Angeles, United States.
1985 Deborah Carthy-Deu (Puerto Rico)
Deborah Fátima Carthy-Deu (born January 5, 1966) in Santurce, Puerto Rico. She became the second Miss Universe from Puerto Rico. The contest was held at James L. Knight Center of Miami, Florida on July 15, 1985.While she was in college, she was selected Miss San Juan on March 22, 1985 and later Miss Puerto Rico on April 27, 1985. On July 15, 1985, she was crowned Miss Universe 1985 representing Puerto Rico in Miami, Florida. Once her Miss Universe obligations were over she moved to California where she lived for several months where she tried to become an actress. Although she did not have much success as an actress, she had success as a model. She also went to Argentina to portray the leading character in the telenovela El Cisne Blanco. Aside from representing her hometown in the Miss Universe Pageant, and winning this title, Deborah graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico and obtained the Theater Medal, awarded to the most distinguished graduate. She majored in Theater Arts and Education.

The Barbara Palacios Casual line of products is distributed in several Latin American countries.

Cecilia Bolocco (born Cecilia Carolina Bolocco Fonck on May 19th, 1965) is a Chilean television entertainer and former Miss Universe 1987.She has worked as a journalist on the Spanish language edition of CNN, on Telemundo and on various programs for Chilean Television and she acted on the soap opera Morelia.
Between 2001 and 2007 she was married to former Argentine president Carlos Menem. Bolocco was born in Santiago, Chile to Enzo Bolocco Cintolesi, a businessman, and Rose Marie Fonck Assler. She attended primary and secondary school at Santiago College. She then took a year of Civil Engineering at the University of Santiago, Chile, before dropping out to pursue Costume Design at INCA-CEA Institute.Bolocco was selected Miss Chile for Miss Universe on April 20, 1987. On May 26, 1987 she beat 67 contestants to become the first Chilean to win the Miss Universe beauty pageant that was held in Singapore that year. Porntip Bui Nakhirunkanok aka Porntip Bui Simon (born February 7, 1968 in Chacheonsao, Thailand; Thai: ภรณ์ทิพย์ นาคหิรัญกนก ไซม่อน (ปุ๋ย), pronounced [pʰōntʰíp nâːkhǐrāŋkànók sājmɔ̂ːn] ([pǔj])) is a Thai beauty queen who has held the title Miss Universe 1988. She became the second woman from Thailand to win the Miss Universe crown, the first being Apasra Hongsakula in 1965. In 1984, Nakhirunkanok joined the first Thai beauty pageant called "Tida Dome" held by the alumni of Thammasat University (Thailand). At that pageant she placed as first runner-up. She participated in the 1988 Miss Thailand pageant held in Bangkok where she won and had the right to represent Thailand at the Miss Universe pageant. 1989 Angela Visser (Holland)
Angela Visser (born October 18, 1966 in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel) is the first woman from the Netherlands to win the Miss Universe[1] pageant in 1989.A few months prior, she competed at Miss World where she did not place. Then, at Miss Universe 1989, Angela swept all three semi-finals competitions and it was obvious she was the virtually unanimous choice of the judges. Placing second after her was Louise Drevenstam of Sweden, with delegates from the USA, Poland and Mexico following. Rounding up the top ten were the delegates from Germany, Venezuela, Finland, Jamaica and Chile.
1990 Mona Grudt (Norway)
Mona Grudt Bittrick (born April 6, 1971 in Hell, Stjørdal, Norway) became the first Norwegian to capture the Miss Universe title in 1990. She became the clear favorite of the judges, winning the interview and swimsuit preliminaries. During the semi-finals she won all three segments. During the 1990 Miss Universe competition, she listed herself as "The beauty queen from Hell" as a publicity stunt (since she was born in Hell, Norway. Apart from that 'hell' also means 'luck' in Norwegian). Her runner-ups were Carole Gist (incidentally, the first black woman to ever become Miss USA), and Liseth Mahecha of Colombia.
1991 Lupita Jones (Mexico)
María Guadalupe "Lupita" Jones Garay (born September 6, 1968 in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico) became the first Mexican woman to win the title of Miss Universe in 1991. Representing the state of Baja California, Jones won the title of Señorita México (Miss Mexico) in September, 1990. A few months later, on May 17, 1991 in Las Vegas, Nevada, she and 72 contestants competed for the title of Miss Universe 1991. Lupita became the clear favorite of the judges, entering the semifinals of the pageant in first place, the only delegate with an average score above 9. During the final telecast, Jones breezed through the competition, winning everything: swimsuit, interview and evening gown. As the indisputable leader, she dominated with her articulate answers the next two rounds of competition (the Top 6 judges' questions and the Top 3 final question), winning it all, the crown, the prizes and the prestigious title for her country.
1992 Michelle McLean (Namibia)
Michelle McLean (born July 30, 1972 in Windhoek, Namibia) was crowned Miss Universe in 1992. She was 19 years old when she represented Namibia and became the first and only woman from Namibia to win the crown.Before she became Miss Universe, McLean competed in Miss World 1991. In the preliminary competition she was tied in second place with a score of 51 along with Miss South Africa, behind the eventual winner, Venezuela's Ninibeth Leal; McLean eventually finished in the top 5. In the 1992 Miss Universe pageant she finished second in the preliminary with a score of 9.147, right behind Carolina Izsak of Venezuela, who won all three preliminary competitions. Nonetheless, McLean's warmth and love for children helped clinch the crown over Izsak, Paola Turbay of Colombia, and Madhushri Sapre of India. In 1992 Michelle founded the Michelle McLean Children's Trust in Namibia, which focuses on the education and care of under-privileged children.
1993 Dayanara Torres (Puerto Rico)
Dayanara Torres Delgado (born October 28, 1974) is a Puerto Rican actress, singer, model, and former Miss Universe. Torres was discovered at age 17 while walking through the Plaza de Toa Alta in her hometown, and was invited to represent Toa Alta in the annual Miss Puerto Rico pageant. She won the pageant and the right to represent Puerto Rico in the 1993 Miss Universe pageant. In 1992, she participated in the Miss International pageant and became a semi-finalist. The same year, she earned second place at the Queen of the World contest. Torres won the crown in the Miss Universe pageant held in Mexico City on May 21, 1993. Torres' victory in the pageant caused some controversy because of the claim that she was still a minor; however, Torres had turned 18 several months before the contest. Her victory also raised some eyebrows, as she did not top any of the pageant's segments. When Torres returned home to Puerto Rico, she was received with a massive parade.
1994 Sushmita Sen (India)
Sushmita Sen (Bengali: সুস্মিতা সেন; born 19 November 1975) is an Indian actress who appears in mainly Bollywood films. A former model, Sen was crowned Miss Universe in 1994. She was the first Indian woman to win the contest. In 1994, at the age of eighteen, Sen won the title of Femina Miss India beating Aishwarya Rai, who was the runner up. Sen represented India at the 1994 Miss Universe Pageant, held in Manila, Philippines and won there. At Miss Universe, Sen ranked third overall in the preliminaries, right behind preliminary winner Miss Colombia Carolina Gómez, and Miss Greece Rea Totounzi, who ranked second but won the preliminary swimsuit and evening gown competitions. Sen went on to place second, fifth and third in the swimsuit, interview, and evening gown semi-final competitions respectively, placing third place behind Miss Colombia Carolina Gomez and Miss Venezuela Minorka Mercado. All three women went on to be the final three contestants. In the end, the judges placed their votes on Sen, making her the first woman from India to become Miss Universe. She owns the rights to send delegates from India to the Miss Universe pageant from 2010 onwards through her project I Am She – Miss Universe India.
1995 Chelsi Smith (USA)
Chelsi Mariam Pearl Smith (born August 23, 1973) is a former beauty pageant titleholder from the United States who became the first Miss USA in fifteen years to capture the Miss Universe crown on May 12, 1995.After becoming Miss USA, Smith traveled to Windhoek, Namibia to compete in the 1995 Miss Universe pageant, broadcast live from Windhoek Country Club on May 12, 1995. She was again the highest placed contestant after the preliminary competition, which propelled her into the top ten. During the final competition, she had the highest swimsuit score, placed third in interview and seventh in evening gown, still remaining the highest placed contestant overall. Once again, Smith was among the final 3 contestants and went on to win the title, becoming the first Miss USA to capture the Miss Universe crown in 15 years.
1996 Alicia Machado (Venezuela)
Yoseph Alicia Machado Fajardo (born December 6, 1976 in Maracay) is an actress, singer and former Miss Universe. She was the fourth woman from Venezuela to capture the Miss Universe crown. Machado won the 1995 Miss Venezuela pageant entering Yaracuy and then the Miss Universe 1996 crown in Las Vegas. The runner-up, Jacqueline Aguilera, also won the Miss World 1995 crown, marking the second time that two Venezuelans from the same pageant won two world titles. Machado's reign came as Donald Trump took ownership of the Miss Universe pageant. During her reign as Miss Universe, Machado made headlines when it was reported that she gained too much weight and the Miss Universe Organization was considering replacing her with her runner-up, Taryn Mansell of Aruba. In the end, Machado retained her title.

For the past 13 years, she's been the last Miss USA to capture the Miss Universe crown.Lee was crowned Miss Hawaii USA on her first try, then went on to participate in Miss USA 1997, broadcast live from Shreveport, Louisiana on February 5, 1997. Wendy Fitzwilliam (born October 4, 1972 in Diego Martin) is a former Miss Trinidad & Tobago Universe, the third woman of African heritage to capture the Miss Universe crown and the second Miss Universe in history from Trinidad and Tobago. Wendy modeled for local fashion designer Meiling in her teenage and early years. At age 25, she participated in the 1998 Miss Universe pageant held at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Pasek also received an elaborate Mikimoto pearl encrusted crown, worth $250,000 as well as an extensive prize package. As Miss Universe, Pasek represented the Miss Universe Organization. 2003 Amelia Vega Polanco (Dominican Republic)
Amelia Vega Polanco (born November 7, 1984 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) became the first and only Dominican woman to be named Miss Universe, in 2003. At the age of 18, she was the youngest winner since 1994. Vega's father, Otto Vega, is a general medical practitioner with offices in New York City and Miami. Her mother, Patricia Polanco Alvarez, also born in Santo Domingo, one of the first 3 Dominican Women to graduate as a Pilot. She was also a previous national titleholder who represented the Dominican Republic in 1980 at the Miss World pageant. Vega is the niece of the Grammy Award–winning singer Juan Luis Guerra. After winning the Miss Dominican Republic Universe title, Vega represented the Dominican Republic in the Miss Universe 2003 pageant held in Panama City, Panama on June 3, 2003. She became the only titleholder from this country to win the title.

Jennifer Hawkins (born 22 December 1983) is an Australian beauty queen, model and television presenter best known as Miss Universe 2004 and the face of Australian department store Myer.The Miss Universe pageant was held in Quito, Ecuador on 1 June 2004. A week prior to the event, Hawkins was ranked sixth favourite to win the crown. Dayana Sabrina Mendoza Moncada (born June 1, 1986 in Caracas, Venezuela) is a model and beauty pageant titleholder who won the titles of Miss Venezuela 2007 and Miss Universe 2008.In 2001, Mendoza signed with Elite Model Management and was a finalist at the Elite Model Look International 2001, in Nice, France. 2011 Leila Lopes (Angola)
Miss Universe 2011, the 60th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant, was held at the Credicard Hall in São Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011. Ximena Navarrete of Mexico crowned her successor, Leila Lopes of Angola, at the end of this event.[4] Contestants from 89 countries and territories participated in this year's pageant, surpassing the previous record of 86 contestants in 2006.
Luz Marina Zuluaga (born October 31, 1938) is a Colombian beauty pageant winner and Miss Universe 1958. She is the only Colombian in history to hold the Miss Universe title.The contest took place in Long Beach, California, on July 25, 1958. 1960 Linda Bement (USA)
Linda Jeanne Bement (born c. 1942), is a beauty pageant titleholder from the United States who became the third Miss USA to be crowned Miss Universe. She represented the United States in the 1960 Miss Universe pageant, broadcast from Long Beach, California, where she was crowned the winner of the title. The 1960 pageant was the first Miss Universe pageant to be televised nationwide.
She was raised in East Germany, the state also known in those days as German Democratic Republic. There she gained a masters degree in engineering. In 1960 she and her family moved to West Germany and lived in Stuttgart.
1961 Marlene Schmidt (Germany)
Marlene Schmidt (born 1937), a professional Engineer, came to fame as winner of the 1961 Miss Universe pageant. Later she had a career in the movie industry. She was raised in East Germany, the state also known in those days as German Democratic Republic. There she gained a masters degree in engineering. In 1960 she and her family moved to West Germany and lived in Stuttgart. In 1961, keen on winning the car that was offered as prize, she entered the state pageant of Baden-Württemberg. From there the 173 cm (5'8") tall blonde with black eyebrows went on to represent her state in the national pageant in the glamorous spa town of Baden-Baden, where she was crowned Miss Germany.
1962 Norma Nolan (Argentina)
Norma Nolan (born Norma Beatriz Nolan, approx. 1938 [1] ), is an Argentine who became, in 1962, the first woman from that country to obtain the Miss Universe title. She won the title in Miami Beach, Florida. Nolan is of Irish and Italian descent. She was born in Argentina. Not much is known about her after winning the Miss Universe title; Nolan kept a largely private life after her victory. According to some websites written by Argentines who lived during the 1960s, however, she became a symbol to the Argentine youth, as Argentina was going through a difficult period, having cut ties with Chile recently, among other things.
1963 Ieda Maria Vargas (Brazil)
Iêda Maria Vargas (born Iêda Maria Britto Vargas, c. 1943), is a Brazilian who was crowned Miss Universe in Miami Beach, Florida in 1963. She was the first person from her country to win a major international beauty pageant. Vargas is a native of Rio Grande do Sul. During her term she opened the Capital Plaza Mall in Landover Hills, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C. In 1968, Martha Vasconcellos of Bahia became the second Brazilian to win the Miss Universe contest. As of 2009, Vargas and Vasconcellos are the only Brazilians to win the Miss Universe crown.
1964 Corinna Tsopei (Greece)
Kiriaki "Corinna" Tsopei (Greek: Κυριακή Κορίνα Τσοπέη; born June 21, 1944) is a beauty pageant winner and actress. In 1964, Tsopei became the first Greek winner of the Miss Universe pageant.On June 20, 1964, Corinna was crowned Miss Star Hellas, (Greek: Μις Σταρ Ελλάς), and moved on to represent Greece at the 1964 Miss Universe pageant in Miami, Florida. She beat out Miss Israel, Miss Great Britain and Miss Sweden to be crowned Miss Universe,[1] bringing the title to Greece for the first time. She has since returned several times to judge the pageant. After the event she went on to pursue a movie career, appearing in a few Hollywood movies and television series such as A Man Called Horse, Daniel Boone, Lost in Space, Valley of the Dolls and A Guide for the Married Man. Apart from her beauty pageant work and acting career, Corinna also is a chairman for an organisation for children with leukemia. Tsopei was married to Hollywood Super Agent Freddie Fields, brother of band leader Shep Fields.

She is the daughter of Group Captain "Perm" and Kayoon Hongsakula. She was the first woman from Thailand to win the Miss Universe crown. Margareta Arvidsson, born in Gothenburg, Sweden, on August 12, 1947, was 18 years old when she was crowned as the 1966 Miss Universe (not 21 years old, as erroneously reported by bad sources). She represented Vänersborg in the 1966 Miss Sweden Pageant. [2]She was the second Swedish beauty to win the crown, 11 years after Hillevi Rombin. Margareta also won the Miss Photogenic title at the 15th Annual Miss Universe Pageant which was held in Miami Beach, Florida, culminating with her crowing on July 16, 1966. After her reign as Miss Universe, Margareta became a fashion model for the Ford Modeling Agency and had great success as an international model. Margareta also appeared on stage and in films. Sylvia Louise Hitchcock-Carson (born January 31, 1946) is a pageant titleholder who held the Miss USA 1967 and Miss Universe 1967 titles. Hitchcock, who had previously competed in local pageants in Florida, represented Alabama at the Miss USA 1967 pageant. She was chosen as one of the fifteen best in swimsuit and won the Miss USA title on May 22. In July she became the first Miss USA to win the Miss Universe title since Linda Bement in 1960. After passing on her title she tried modelling in New York but became disillusioned with the city and returned to Miami where she worked for a television station. Georgina Rizk (Arabic: جورجينا رزق, born July 23, 1953) was Lebanon's first and so far only Miss Universe.Rizk was born in Beirut to a Christian household. She was crowned in the Miss Universe pageant in 1971 in Miami Beach, Florida, USA. She was the first woman from the Middle East and the fourth woman from Asia to win the title. The 1972 Miss Universe pageant was held in Cerromar Beach Hotel in Dorado, Puerto Rico. On May 30, 1972, a month before the pageant telecast, 16 Christian pilgrims from Puerto Rico along with other victims, were killed during a terrorist massacre at the Lod Airport in Tel Aviv in Israel(now Ben Gurion International Airport). Maria Margarita Morán Róxas-Floirendo won the Miss Philippines and Miss Universe crowns in 1973. A granddaughter of former Philippine President Manuel Roxas, she has also been known as Margie Morán Róxas and Margie Moran Róxas De Floirendo. 1975 Anne Marie Puhtamo (Finland)
Anne Marie Puhtamo (born 15 August 1955, Helsinki, Finland) was the second woman from Finland to capture the Miss Universe crown. She claimed the Miss Universe crown in 1975 at the pageant held in El Salvador. Puhtamo was crowned by Miss Universe 1972 Kerry Anne Wells, not by her predecessor Amparo Muñoz, as Muñoz was dethroned shortly before her reign ended.[why?] She became the second Finn to claim the title of Miss Universe, 23 years after Armi Kuusela. Shawn Nichols Weatherly (born July 24, 1959) is a beauty queen and actress from South Carolina who won the titles of Miss USA and Miss Universe in 1980.The Miss USA 1980 pageant was televised live from Biloxi, Mississippi. Weatherly won the preliminary competition by a clear margin, and went on to win all three rounds of the final competition (interview, evening gown, and swimsuit). She was the only woman to score above 9.0 in the preliminary rounds as well as in the swimsuit and evening gown competitions. She was the second woman from South Carolina to win the title. In July 1980, Weatherly competed in the Miss Universe pageant held in Seoul, South Korea, where again she won all rounds of competition. Her closest rival was Denyse Nottle of New Zealand, who placed second in the interview and swimsuit competitions, and would eventually be Weatherly's second runner-up. She has been a model, was the mayor of Chacao (a municipality of Caracas), Governor of the state of Nueva Esparta and a former presidential candidate.Sáez was crowned Miss Venezuela 1981 and later, crowned Miss Universe 1981 at the 30th annual pageant in New York City at the age of 19.[1] She was also Queen of Club Campestre Los Cortijos for three years in a row. In 1997, she was awarded the Distinguished Achievement Award at the Miss Universe Pageant, a recently created prize of the Miss Universe Organization. 1983 Lorraine Downes (New Zealand)
Lorraine Elizabeth Downes (born 12 June 1964) is a New Zealand former beauty queen who held the Miss Universe title in 1983 and won the New Zealand version of the reality TV show Dancing with the Stars in 2006.Downes won the Miss New Zealand title and went on to represent her country at the 1983 Miss Universe pageant broadcast live from St. Louis, Missouri in July 1983. After the preliminary competition, Downes made the top twelve cut in sixth place, but placed second in the final evening gown competition, third in the interview competition, and fourth in swimsuit. She made the final five in third place behind Julie Hayek of the USA and Lolita Morena of Switzerland, and was eventually crowned Miss Universe. She wore a midnight blue gown and long gloves during the competition. Deborah Fátima Carthy-Deu (born January 5, 1966) in Santurce, Puerto Rico. She became the second Miss Universe from Puerto Rico. The contest was held at James L. Knight Center of Miami, Florida on July 15, 1985.While she was in college, she was selected Miss San Juan on March 22, 1985 and later Miss Puerto Rico on April 27, 1985. On July 15, 1985, she was crowned Miss Universe 1985 representing Puerto Rico in Miami, Florida. Once her Miss Universe obligations were over she moved to California where she lived for several months where she tried to become an actress. Although she did not have much success as an actress, she had success as a model. She also went to Argentina to portray the leading character in the telenovela El Cisne Blanco. Aside from representing her hometown in the Miss Universe Pageant, and winning this title, Deborah graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico and obtained the Theater Medal, awarded to the most distinguished graduate. She majored in Theater Arts and Education.

Porntip Bui Nakhirunkanok aka Porntip Bui Simon (born February 7, 1968 in Chacheonsao, Thailand; Thai: ภรณ์ทิพย์ นาคหิรัญกนก ไซม่อน (ปุ๋ย), pronounced [pʰōntʰíp nâːkhǐrāŋkànók sājmɔ̂ːn] ([pǔj])) is a Thai beauty queen who has held the title Miss Universe 1988. She became the second woman from Thailand to win the Miss Universe crown, the first being Apasra Hongsakula in 1965. In 1984, Nakhirunkanok joined the first Thai beauty pageant called "Tida Dome" held by the alumni of Thammasat University (Thailand). At that pageant she placed as first runner-up. She participated in the 1988 Miss Thailand pageant held in Bangkok where she won and had the right to represent Thailand at the Miss Universe pageant. At age of 19, Porntip Nakhirunkanok was crowned as Miss Universe 1988 by outgoing titleholder Cecilia Bolocco on May 24, 1988 in Taipei, Taiwan.

Angela Visser (born October 18, 1966 in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel) is the first woman from the Netherlands to win the Miss Universe[1] pageant in 1989.A few months prior, she competed at Miss World where she did not place. Then, at Miss Universe 1989, Angela swept all three semi-finals competitions and it was obvious she was the virtually unanimous choice of the judges. Placing second after her was Louise Drevenstam of Sweden, with delegates from the USA, Poland and Mexico following. Rounding up the top ten were the delegates from Germany, Venezuela, Finland, Jamaica and Chile.
1990 Mona Grudt (Norway)
Mona Grudt Bittrick (born April 6, 1971 in Hell, Stjørdal, Norway) became the first Norwegian to capture the Miss Universe title in 1990. She became the clear favorite of the judges, winning the interview and swimsuit preliminaries. During the semi-finals she won all three segments. During the 1990 Miss Universe competition, she listed herself as "The beauty queen from Hell" as a publicity stunt (since she was born in Hell, Norway. Apart from that 'hell' also means 'luck' in Norwegian). Her runner-ups were Carole Gist (incidentally, the first black woman to ever become Miss USA), and Liseth Mahecha of Colombia.
1991 Lupita Jones (Mexico)
María Guadalupe "Lupita" Jones Garay (born September 6, 1968 in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico) became the first Mexican woman to win the title of Miss Universe in 1991. Representing the state of Baja California, Jones won the title of Señorita México (Miss Mexico) in September, 1990. A few months later, on May 17, 1991 in Las Vegas, Nevada, she and 72 contestants competed for the title of Miss Universe 1991. Lupita became the clear favorite of the judges, entering the semifinals of the pageant in first place, the only delegate with an average score above 9. During the final telecast, Jones breezed through the competition, winning everything: swimsuit, interview and evening gown. As the indisputable leader, she dominated with her articulate answers the next two rounds of competition (the Top 6 judges' questions and the Top 3 final question), winning it all, the crown, the prizes and the prestigious title for her country.
1992 Michelle McLean (Namibia)
Michelle McLean (born July 30, 1972 in Windhoek, Namibia) was crowned Miss Universe in 1992. She was 19 years old when she represented Namibia and became the first and only woman from Namibia to win the crown.Before she became Miss Universe, McLean competed in Miss World 1991. In the preliminary competition she was tied in second place with a score of 51 along with Miss South Africa, behind the eventual winner, Venezuela's Ninibeth Leal; McLean eventually finished in the top 5. In the 1992 Miss Universe pageant she finished second in the preliminary with a score of 9.147, right behind Carolina Izsak of Venezuela, who won all three preliminary competitions. Nonetheless, McLean's warmth and love for children helped clinch the crown over Izsak, Paola Turbay of Colombia, and Madhushri Sapre of India. In 1992 Michelle founded the Michelle McLean Children's Trust in Namibia, which focuses on the education and care of under-privileged children.
1993 Dayanara Torres (Puerto Rico)
Dayanara Torres Delgado (born October 28, 1974) is a Puerto Rican actress, singer, model, and former Miss Universe. Torres was discovered at age 17 while walking through the Plaza de Toa Alta in her hometown, and was invited to represent Toa Alta in the annual Miss Puerto Rico pageant. She won the pageant and the right to represent Puerto Rico in the 1993 Miss Universe pageant. In 1992, she participated in the Miss International pageant and became a semi-finalist. The same year, she earned second place at the Queen of the World contest. Torres won the crown in the Miss Universe pageant held in Mexico City on May 21, 1993. Torres' victory in the pageant caused some controversy because of the claim that she was still a minor; however, Torres had turned 18 several months before the contest. Her victory also raised some eyebrows, as she did not top any of the pageant's segments. When Torres returned home to Puerto Rico, she was received with a massive parade.
1994 Sushmita Sen (India)
Sushmita Sen (Bengali: সুস্মিতা সেন; born 19 November 1975) is an Indian actress who appears in mainly Bollywood films. A former model, Sen was crowned Miss Universe in 1994. She was the first Indian woman to win the contest. In 1994, at the age of eighteen, Sen won the title of Femina Miss India beating Aishwarya Rai, who was the runner up. Sen represented India at the 1994 Miss Universe Pageant, held in Manila, Philippines and won there. At Miss Universe, Sen ranked third overall in the preliminaries, right behind preliminary winner Miss Colombia Carolina Gómez, and Miss Greece Rea Totounzi, who ranked second but won the preliminary swimsuit and evening gown competitions. Sen went on to place second, fifth and third in the swimsuit, interview, and evening gown semi-final competitions respectively, placing third place behind Miss Colombia Carolina Gomez and Miss Venezuela Minorka Mercado. All three women went on to be the final three contestants. In the end, the judges placed their votes on Sen, making her the first woman from India to become Miss Universe. She owns the rights to send delegates from India to the Miss Universe pageant from 2010 onwards through her project I Am She – Miss Universe India.
1995 Chelsi Smith (USA)
Chelsi Mariam Pearl Smith (born August 23, 1973) is a former beauty pageant titleholder from the United States who became the first Miss USA in fifteen years to capture the Miss Universe crown on May 12, 1995.After becoming Miss USA, Smith traveled to Windhoek, Namibia to compete in the 1995 Miss Universe pageant, broadcast live from Windhoek Country Club on May 12, 1995. She was again the highest placed contestant after the preliminary competition, which propelled her into the top ten. Yoseph Alicia Machado Fajardo (born December 6, 1976 in Maracay) is an actress, singer and former Miss Universe. She was the fourth woman from Venezuela to capture the Miss Universe crown. Machado won the 1995 Miss Venezuela pageant entering Yaracuy and then the Miss Universe 1996 crown in Las Vegas. The runner-up, Jacqueline Aguilera, also won the Miss World 1995 crown, marking the second time that two Venezuelans from the same pageant won two world titles. Machado's reign came as Donald Trump took ownership of the Miss Universe pageant. During her reign as Miss Universe, Machado made headlines when it was reported that she gained too much weight and the Miss Universe Organization was considering replacing her with her runner-up, Taryn Mansell of Aruba. In the end, Machado retained her title.

Wendy Fitzwilliam (born October 4, 1972 in Diego Martin) is a former Miss Trinidad & Tobago Universe, the third woman of African heritage to capture the Miss Universe crown and the second Miss Universe in history from Trinidad and Tobago. Wendy modeled for local fashion designer Meiling in her teenage and early years. At age 25, she participated in the 1998 Miss Universe pageant held at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Oxana Fedorova from Russia was crowned Miss Universe 2002 by Miss Universe 2001, Denise Quiñones of Puerto Rico. On September 23, 2002, Fedorova was dethroned and replaced by her first runner-up Justine Pasek of Panama.

Yostin "Justine" Lissette Pasek Patiño (born August 29, 1979) is a Panamanian model, FAO Goodwill Ambassador, and Miss Universe 2002She was formally crowned Miss Universe 2002 by pageant co-owner Donald Trump in New York City, and a busy week of press engagements followed. Pasek also received an elaborate Mikimoto pearl encrusted crown, worth $250,000 as well as an extensive prize package. As Miss Universe, Pasek represented the Miss Universe Organization. Her "sister" 2002 titleholders were Vanessa Semrow (Miss Teen USA, of Wisconsin ) and Shauntay Hinton (Miss USA, District of Columbia ). A self-described "citizen of the world", Pasek has since traveled to Japan, Bali, Thailand, Egypt, Aruba, Ecuador, Peru, Cuba, Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
2003 Amelia Vega Polanco (Dominican Republic)
Amelia Vega Polanco (born November 7, 1984 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) became the first and only Dominican woman to be named Miss Universe, in 2003. At the age of 18, she was the youngest winner since 1994. Vega's father, Otto Vega, is a general medical practitioner with offices in New York City and Miami. Her mother, Patricia Polanco Alvarez, also born in Santo Domingo, one of the first 3 Dominican Women to graduate as a Pilot. She was also a previous national titleholder who represented the Dominican Republic in 1980 at the Miss World pageant. Vega is the niece of the Grammy Award–winning singer Juan Luis Guerra. After winning the Miss Dominican Republic Universe title, Vega represented the Dominican Republic in the Miss Universe 2003 pageant held in Panama City, Panama on June 3, 2003. She became the only titleholder from this country to win the title.
2004 Jennifer Hawkins (Australia)
Jennifer Hawkins (born 22 December 1983) is an Australian beauty queen, model and television presenter best known as Miss Universe 2004 and the face of Australian department store Myer.The Miss Universe pageant was held in Quito, Ecuador on 1 June 2004. A week prior to the event, Hawkins was ranked sixth favourite to win the crown. During the final competition, Hawkins became the first Australian to make the semi-finals since Voni Delfos in 1993.Hawkins was crowned by outgoing titleholder Amelia Vega from the Dominican Republic, after famously being announced by host Billy Bush as the "thunder from down under". Pageant co-owner Donald Trump described Hawkins as "the most beautiful Miss Universe I have seen in many, many years".Hawkins served as a judge for the Miss Universe 2008 finals in Vietnam.
2005 Natalie Glebova (Canada)
Natalie Glebova (Russian: Наталья Глебова, born November 11, 1981) is a Russian Canadian beauty queen, the 2005 Miss Universe title holder.n 2004, Glebova attempted to win the Miss Universe Canada pageant where she placed as 3rd runner-up. The eventual winner, Venessa Fisher, failed to place in the Miss Universe 2004 finals. Glebova competed again in January 2005, and won the title.Glebova competed in the Miss Universe 2005 pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand in June 2005, where she became the fourth Canadian in ten years to make the initial cut of semi-finalists.
2006 Zuleyka Rivera (Puerto Rico)
Zuleyka Jerrís Rivera Mendoza (born October 3, 1987) is a Puerto Rican beauty queen who held the titles Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2006 and Miss Universe 2006.[1] She made her debut as a telenovela actress in Telemundo's soap opera Dame Chocolate.Zuleyka Rivera represented Puerto Rico in the Miss Universe 2006 pageant which was televised live internationally from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California on 23 July 2006. After competing in swimsuit, evening gown and interview, she was crowned Miss Universe by outgoing titleholder Natalie Glebova of Canada.
2007 Riyo Mori (Japan)
Riyo Mori (森 理世 Mori Riyo?) (born December 24, 1986 in Aoi-ku, Shizuoka, Japan) is a Japanese dance instructor and model who won the Miss Universe 2007 title in May 2007. Mori was crowned Miss Universe on May 28, 2007, by the outgoing titleholder Zuleyka Rivera. As Japan's representative in the Miss Universe 2007 pageant, Mori travelled to Mexico City, Mexico in early May to participate in four weeks of events, rehearsals and preliminary competitions with the other seventy-seven delegates. Mori crowned her successor, Venezuela native Dayana Mendoza with a $120,000-USD tiara, Miss Universe 2008 on July 14, 2008 in Nha Trang, Vietnam.

Dayana Sabrina Mendoza Moncada (born June 1, 1986 in Caracas, Venezuela) is a model and beauty pageant titleholder who won the titles of Miss Venezuela 2007 and Miss Universe 2008.In 2001, Mendoza signed with Elite Model Management and was a finalist at the Elite Model Look International 2001, in Nice, France. She has worked with the companies Max Mara and Costume Nacional, where she modeled in New York, Italy, Germany, France, Athens and Spain for Versace, Roberto Cavalli and other fashion designers. She speaks Spanish, English, and Italian. After Elite, she signed to Trump Model Management, and in Milan, Names Model Agency.Dayana beat 27 other candidates to win Miss Venezuela 2007 on September 13, 2007, and became only the second woman representing the Amazonas state to win (the first being Carolina Izsak in 1991). She was crowned Miss Universe 2008 at the pageant in the Crown Convention Center, Nha Trang, Vietnam on July 13, 2008. Mendoza became the first winner of the pageant from Venezuela since Miss Universe 1996's winner Alicia Machado,[12] thus making her the first Venezuelan Miss Universe in the 21st century.
2009 Stefania Fernandez (Venezuela)
Stefanía Fernández Krupij (born September 4, 1990) is a Venezuelan beauty pageant titleholder who won the Miss Venezuela 2008 and Miss Universe 2009 titles. She earned a Guinness record by being the first Miss Universe winner who was crowned by a compatriot. The President of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, congratulated Fernández, and he gave her his support against her campaign against AIDS. He also gave his government's support . In October, she traveled to Jakarta, Bandung and Medan, in Indonesia, where she crowned the Indonesian representative for the Miss Universe 2010 pageant.[
2010 Ximena Navarette (Mexico)
A 22-year-old Mexico woman has won the Miss Universe pageant after donning a flowing red gown and telling an audience it's important to teach kids family values. Jimena Navarrete of Guadalajara was first to answer an interview question Monday night and the last of 83 contestants standing in the headline-grabbing pageant on the Las Vegas Strip.
2011 Leila Lopes (Angola)
Miss Universe 2011, the 60th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant, was held at the Credicard Hall in São Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011. Ximena Navarrete of Mexico crowned her successor, Leila Lopes of Angola, at the end of this event.[4] Contestants from 89 countries and territories participated in this year's pageant, surpassing the previous record of 86 contestants in 2006.
